Hello all,
Today we have a couple things to do:
1) Listen to the Health/Medicine podcast on http://www.eslpod.com/, (ESL Cafe 423) and answer the following:
a) What is a food label? Where do I find it?
b) How does the man feel about his girlfriend?
c) What did you learn that you found interesting/useful?
2) Find a newspaper in your native language. Find an interesting (and relatively short) article in the paper and translate it into English for us. Choose an article that your classmates will find interesting.
3) Look at, and comment on the articles that your classmates have translated.

November 4th assignment
Hello all,
Last week we wrote resumes. This week we are going to rewrite our resumes on the computer. Here is what you need to do:
1) Get your resume from the front of the class.
2) Go to docs.google.com
3) Login using your gmail username and password
4) Once you are in, click "New" and select "Document".
5) Start typing in your resume.
Don't worry too much about formatting (centering, size etc.). We will talk about this in class.
Have fun! :)

Ok, now that you have told me what a blog is, it is time to actually find some interesting podcasts. Go to the website http://www.eslpod.com/website/ and on the site you will find under "Latest Podcasts" a button which says "listen" under each podcast. Click on the button and you will hear the podcast.

Hello everybody :)
Before I forget, Corina was kind enough to post some of the pictures she took in class before she left. You can see them by clicking on this link : http://sceslcaty.blogspot.com/
For today's assignment, we are going to start off by learning about podcasting. First, I want you to go and find out what a podcast is. You can start by checking out one of my favourite sites on the net, http://www.wikipedia.org/ - the world's biggest encyclopedia. Near the bottom of the screen you can type in the word "podcast" (or any other subject that you are interested in), and it will find the page that explains what they are. For more information, you can also type "What is a podcast" into the search bar on www.google.com and search for other sites which explain what they are. After you are clear on what a podcast is, I want you to write a post explaining (in your own words) what a podcast is. When you have finished, send me an e-mail at rwesl08@gmail.com

Hello,
Today we are going to do a few different things. First of all we are going to start by following someone else's blog. To do this go into your blog, and then find the "dashboard". Find the "add" button near the bottom which will allow you to "follow" someone else's blog. When you click on "Add", a dialogue box will appear. Make sure "Add from URL" is checked off. In the blank underneath, enter the following address http://www.scesl.blogspot.com/ (the address for my blog), then hit the "Next" button. Hit "Follow" near the bottom of the next screen and you are done. From now on, whenever you log on to your account, you can easily see if any of the blogs you are following has new entries.
You might also want to add these:
http://www.sceslenri.blogspot.com/
http://www.sceslbless.blogspot.com/
http://www.sceslmotas.blogspot.com/
http://www.sceslCaty.blogspot.com/
That's it for now. We'll push this a little further in class.

First class blog posts
Hello all,
Today we will (hopefully) create our first blog. I would like you to introduce yourselves to the world. Give a brief description of who you are, where you come from, why you are here, etc. etc. Have fun with this. Write about whatever it is you think of.
